We enter into the marriage not knowing what the future may hold, what future and what trials and challenges our God may put us on. We don't know what will become of us from this day forward. We don't know if our lives would be better or worse. We don't know if we'll be richer or poorer. We don't know if we'll be healthy or sick. There will never be certainty.
But one thing is for sure, even if we don't know where our future together would be, we will one day be poor as we will not take a single cent with us when we die, and not even the clothes we will wear when we are cremated. We can be sure that we will not be healthy when we die.
Yet, the perseverance of our marriage will show God's love, prevailing and sustaining power. We live, Oh Lord, for Your glory. Let that be our greatest joy and source of strength for our marriage.
Penned this day, 20 March 2015, 1845.
